语音教学的重要性

小学阶段是否学习音标，在《英语课程标准》里未作明确的目标描述，英语(pep)从四年级上册才开始出现语音专项学习，音标则到六年级才开始学习。这可能会使一些教师在教学起始阶段忽略了语音教学，没有给学生打下良好的语音基础，从而影响学生的后继学习。

一、语音教学的重要性

从教学目标来看，语音、词汇和语法是语言学习的三要素，有人把三者的关系比喻为“血液”、“肌肉”和“骨架”，可见语音的重要性。在小学英语教学中，语音教学显得更加重要。因为，在《英语课程标准》中明确提出：基础教育阶段英语课程的任务之一，是使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和听、说、读、写技能，形成一定的综合运用语言能力。小学阶段的学生应该学习并掌握包括“知道错误的发音会影响交际；知道字母名称的读音；了解简单的拼读规律；了解单词有重音；语音清楚、语调自然”在内的五个方面的语音基础知识。另外，英语(pep)各册教材也强调要培养学生具有一定的语感和良好的语音、语调的基础，初步具备用英语进行简单日常交流的能力。所以，良好的语音是保证英语教学成功的重要环节。小学阶段儿童的心理特征主要表现为“好奇”和“善于大胆的模仿，不怕出错”。机械记忆比较强，这对进行语音训练是非常有利的。

二、语音教学中应注意的问题

在小学阶段，由于有的教师对语音教学重要性的认识不足，加之师资水平、教学设备和地域条件的限制，语音教学方面存在一些问题，主要有下面几种。

1.课堂教学中弱化语音教学的问题。教师对语音教学的意识不强，在教学设计中很少涉及语音内容，课堂上讲授语音，通常会引起教师的焦虑。担心教学占用时间，完成不了本节课的教学内容，必然会忽略学生对每个单词的音节或重音是否读得正确；学生读句子时，忽略了语调是否正确等。解决这些问题的首要条件是转变观念。教师要关注学生的学习结果。越是大班教学越要重视对学生进行个别检查。保证每个学生对新学词句的发音准确。因为大班教学人数多，教室空间大，离教师远的学生难免听不清或听错音。备课时，教师要认真分析教学中存在的语音难点，教学中要有足够的时间去纠正学生的错误发音，在学习的起始阶段就抓好语音训练。学生如果在刚开始学习的时候没能养成正确、良好的发音习惯，今后要纠正是很困难的，错误的发音必然影响他们使用英语进行交际，影响后继学习。

2.语音教学方法问题。语音教学的方法有很多种，但对儿童都不合适。对他们来说，语音是一种感知性的学习，只有合适的语音教学方法，才会有好的效果。小学阶段的语音教学是要培养学生能够正确地发音，记住单词的重音，掌握好节奏和语调。教学中教师要多示范、学生多模仿、多练习，少讲规则，并适时设计一些游戏活动，增加教学的趣味性。
